Additional Information
The Barn is currently being used for storage. It could be available for lease at the right price. We do have approximately 26 acres of cleared farmland for planting and the remaining 36 acres are wooded.
Farm Equipment available for leasing is a 1968 Ford 3,000 Diesel Tractor/2.9L three-cylinder diesel engine with a 3 point hitch and road clearing blade. Other equipment includes a plow, cultivator, 6ft brush hog, and a farm disc (approx. 8ft/7inches wide). We also have one farmhand that can operate the equipment, if needed.
Preferred Farming Method
Conventional Organic Practices
Soil Type(s)
We never had a soil survey completed, however, from a visual review, the cleared acreage has dark soil, plus some red clay. Historically the property was excellent in growing corn, wheat, and hay.
Goals, Values, Vision for the Farm/Land
This farm did belong to my Great Uncle Ed Leslie as far back as 1900. There have been a number of years since no one has farmed it. I just became an owner and we have all this acreage available, not being used for growing crops, it is just not right. As we all know our own American civilization is grounded on the ideals of a simple agricultural society. By putting this land to good use and receiving some financial returns is our goal.
